Someone has been digging a hole beside the road here. A spade lies beside a pile of freshly dug soil. If you’re quick you might be able to retrieve whatever it is before the digger comes back.

If you wish to try and dig Test Strength. If you are successful you find the buried item, it is a bag of gold! Put it in your knapsack, this is a gold item. If you are unsuccessful you may try again, but each time you try roll the purple dice. If you roll equal to or less than the number of attempts you have made then the digger returns! Test Agility to escape to an adjoining tile or lose 1 Endurance. Either way you must abandon your digging.

If you return to this tile again the hole has been filled in, the spade is gone and there is no sign left as to where to dig.
